[00:00:02] Speaker A: Yeah. Come on. [00:00:07] Speaker B: Get him up now. [00:00:09] Speaker A: So two. [00:00:10] Speaker B: No, I own 1, 2, 3, 4. Four different pairs. Well, see, here's what happens. [00:00:16] Speaker A: I paint as you know. Yeah. [00:00:18] Speaker B: And I always have a pair of painting glasses. [00:00:20] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:00:20] Speaker B: And they sometimes get ruined fast. [00:00:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:00:23] Speaker B: And then thanks to the Interweb and things like Warby Parker or Z Lool, you can get glasses cheap. [00:00:28] Speaker A: Right. [00:00:29] Speaker B: Plus, I, I, I like to pretend I'm. I'm. This is a different personality now that I have my rimless glasses on. Now I'm a philosopher. [00:00:36] Speaker A: Ah, I see he's risen. So each he. He has risen indeed. [00:00:41] Speaker B: Celebrated Easter times. [00:00:43] Speaker A: What do you guys do for Easter? You hide baskets for Easter? [00:00:50] Speaker B: The Easter bunny. [00:00:53] Speaker A: He looks a lot like you. [00:00:54] Speaker B: I've heard he does have a fluffy tail. [00:00:57] Speaker A: Is. Do you hide your Easter baskets hard or do you make it like you're a good father? I know. Like you. [00:01:03] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:01:03] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:01:04] Speaker B: So they're getting older, so. [00:01:05] Speaker A: Yes. [00:01:05] Speaker B: I will turn the oven on and put it in. [00:01:08] Speaker A: I don't. I don't think it's successful as a father if your kids don't cry looking for their Easter basket every time, even [00:01:15] Speaker B: when they like to. [00:01:16] Speaker A: Yes. [00:01:16] Speaker B: Wow. [00:01:17] Speaker A: There needs to be tears for me to, like, really feel like I nailed it. [00:01:21] Speaker B: I'm not that. [00:01:22] Speaker A: And now that my kids are getting older and there's less places in the house to hide it because my kids make fun of me now, they're like, oh, d. You didn't make that one hard. Oh. So the next one's going in the attic. [00:01:33] Speaker B: You'll see. Don't. [00:01:35] Speaker A: We don't have any access to the attic. [00:01:36] Speaker B: Roof. [00:01:37] Speaker A: Roof is tree. [00:01:38] Speaker C: Yes. [00:01:39] Speaker B: Tree. [00:01:39] Speaker C: Fort. [00:01:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:40] Speaker B: Yeah. A hole in the ground. Put it in the septic tank. Yeah. [00:01:44] Speaker A: Are we ready to start this bad boy? [00:01:45] Speaker B: I'm ready. [00:01:46] Speaker A: Tell us what we're doing today. Good song. That was a good interview we had with Sean. [00:01:53] Speaker B: Hey, thanks for being here. Yeah. Today's episode four. Four. Can you believe it? [00:01:59] Speaker A: It's moving, moving fast. [00:02:01] Speaker B: And on this day in history, do [00:02:03] Speaker A: you know what happened on this day in history? [00:02:05] Speaker B: No, tell me. [00:02:06] Speaker A: So have you ever heard the song He's Got the Whole World in His hands? He's got the whole world in his hands. There was a kid. A kid in 1958. [00:02:17] Speaker B: 58. [00:02:18] Speaker A: He was 13 years old. [00:02:19] Speaker B: So he's no longer a kid. [00:02:21] Speaker A: Correct. His name was Lori London. Maybe he still is Lori London. Maybe he's still alive. I don't know. But he went on the Ed Sullivan show this day in history, 1958. And did his rendition of the song He's Got the Whole World in His Hands. And it shot up the charts. Became super famous this day in history. So today, what's going on in today's episode? [00:02:51] Speaker B: Chris, we're gonna talk about some stories [00:02:55] Speaker A: because we've talked stories. Well, I'm not giving you another high five. [00:02:57] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. [00:02:58] Speaker A: Because one's enough. [00:02:59] Speaker B: I deserve it. [00:03:00] Speaker A: One was more than enough. There you go. We got some stories from some people who've attended the festival last year. Maybe even some first time attenders. So excited about that. [00:03:09] Speaker B: Hopefully you'll be a first time attender if you never come. [00:03:12] Speaker A: We love stories. We love hearing stories about Kingdom Mound and we love hearing stories about what God does at Kingdom Bound. So I'm super excited. [00:03:18] Speaker B: We also got some Kingdom Mound. [00:03:21] Speaker A: Yeah. We want to know what's happening, what's moving and grooving in the world of Kingdom Bound. [00:03:25] Speaker B: There we go. [00:03:26] Speaker A: But before we do that, this podcast would not be possible without the friends at Elam Fellowship and Kevin Neville, the guy that just is a wizard behind the scenes. [00:03:39] Speaker B: Could we have kept going every other word? [00:03:40] Speaker A: I think we could have. [00:03:42] Speaker B: We should try that. [00:03:42] Speaker A: Sometimes you'll hear Kevin laugh in the background, say, hi, Kevin. [00:03:46] Speaker B: Something stupid. See, there he is, Kevin. [00:03:49] Speaker A: He's the man behind the camera. I saw his amazing job. There's so many good things going on in Elon Fellowship. They have their annual conference coming up here next month called Oasis. Seu worship's going to be there. [00:04:03] Speaker B: Chris, me and you should go to that SEU. [00:04:05] Speaker A: Yeah, SEU's worship to be there, I think. Yep. Adam McCain is going to be speaking. He is phenomenal. I'm so excited. Like, we used to bring him in for the Century Youth Conference every year. Now he's going to be speaking to the adult conference. [00:04:20] Speaker B: He upgraded. [00:04:20] Speaker A: He's so good. [00:04:21] Speaker B: Probably actually downgraded. [00:04:23] Speaker A: So, yeah, the OASIS conference. Go to elamfellowship.org for more information. You want to get to that, but check out some other things going on in the Elam Fellowship. [00:04:33] Speaker C: What a blessing to be in this conference. [00:04:35] Speaker A: I'm grateful to be a part of this family and to be a part of what God is doing. [00:04:54] Speaker D: This is a place of transformation. [00:04:55] Speaker B: So just being around the presence of [00:04:57] Speaker A: the Lord is an opportunity to change. [00:04:59] Speaker E: And it's just no greater place to be. [00:05:02] Speaker A: The lives that had been changed, the perfect prophetic flow over individuals in the services. This thing is so anointed. [00:05:11] Speaker B: It's been a really powerful experience. [00:05:14] Speaker A: God is. I think he's Sowing the seeds of revival in the Fellowship again. I see it everywhere I look, reaffirming [00:05:22] Speaker D: the call to ministry on my life. [00:05:27] Speaker F: So come on out and mark your calendar for 2026. [00:05:34] Speaker A: Thank you so much for being a part of the podcast fellowship. [00:05:36] Speaker C: And Kevin, [00:05:39] Speaker A: one of my favorite things that we do at Kingdom Bound is our team program. And this year we are partnering with Reach One Ministries and Marcus McFoling and he is going to bring his team of people. So he's got amazing worship band, he's got some amazing speakers and influencers coming and confetti cannons. I hope so. If he does it right, he's going to have jelly sandwiches for games. Maybe, maybe. But we're going to have an amazing teen program. We are actually changing the time for the teen program because we want it to be a little longer and make more of an impact. It's going to be one o' clock in the Generations tent every day of the festival. We're going to be partnering with Reach One Marcus McFoling. We have some really good speakers again this year. We have Marcus, obviously, but we also have Keenan Clark. [00:06:29] Speaker B: Keenan Clark. [00:06:30] Speaker A: I just. I'm so excited to have him at the festival. And we're gonna have the tried and true Mike Gordon. We interviewed him in our first episode. The guy's awesome. So be looking for that when you come to Kingdom Bound. It's gonna be in the Generations tent, which is in the campground. It's in the campground right behind the worship tent. So make your way through the amusement park through the. We're past the worship tent. Come on over to the meadows where you're going to see a bunch of games and teenagers hanging out. And in that tent at 1 o' clock every day, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, reach 1 is going to present our teen program every day. We're super excited about that. And you know what, if you're going to go, you might as well camp because we have so many campsites available. We love campers at Kingdom Mound. The best way to experience Kingdom Bound is camping. You get two extra days. [00:07:20] Speaker B: Two extra days. [00:07:22] Speaker A: It's amazing. [00:07:23] Speaker B: Or just the amusement park. [00:07:24] Speaker A: Really? Yeah. What's your funniest or maybe most embarrassing story? [00:07:28] Speaker B: I told them this. I shouldn't have told them. Now there are people who are campers and there are people who are not. [00:07:35] Speaker A: Yes. [00:07:37] Speaker B: You can guess what category I'm in. So I'm like 17, 18. We're doing some worship back there. And it's nighttime and, you know, now I got to sleep in a tent. And the what do we call it? And the radar. [00:07:55] Speaker A: The forecast. [00:07:56] Speaker B: Think that is. [00:07:57] Speaker A: There's the word. Yes, the forecast calls for rain. [00:08:02] Speaker B: So anyways, the forecast is calling for rain, but we're not smart enough because we're not campers. You're right to know. Hey, you shouldn't put your tent in the valley. You know what I mean? [00:08:13] Speaker A: Don't put it on the lowest point of your campground. [00:08:15] Speaker B: No, but we did. But we didn't know until like 2:00am oh, we're soaked. Like, we're not just like wet. Like, we are sopping wet because we put our tent in the valley like dummies. [00:08:31] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:08:31] Speaker B: And that night I ended up sleeping on a stage with a. A sleeping bag that was soaked. So don't do that. If you're going to be camping, pick the high ground. I have the high ground now. [00:08:45] Speaker A: Adam, you want to hear my stupid camping story? [00:08:47] Speaker B: Yeah, let's hear it. [00:08:48] Speaker A: So I go camping with my kids and the. The forecast calls for clear blue skies, no rain in the forecast. It's a beautiful day. No, like, it's warm out. So. So I have the great idea to not. You know how tents come with the canopy over? [00:09:05] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:09:05] Speaker A: Do you know why they. That has the canopy on? Has the canopy on it so that dew doesn't get in your tent and drip down on you. So I said to my kids, I'm like, guys, it's not going to rain. We don't need to put the canopy on. [00:09:19] Speaker B: Might as well throw out the poles too while we're at it. [00:09:22] Speaker A: So we set the tent up. No rain. Beautiful night. I'm looking at the stars through the mesh. Well, it took about 3, 4 o' clock in the morning. I start to get dripped on because of the dew. And I had no clue that the canopy stopped the dew as well. My kids and I, we woke up soaked because. Not because it was raining, but because I'm an. I'm a stupid camper and didn't put the canopy on. [00:09:50] Speaker B: Well, at least you grew. At least you know. [00:09:53] Speaker A: I know. I know now. And we've camped since. And I put the canopy on. [00:09:57] Speaker B: So if you come to Kingdom Mound, you should. [00:10:00] Speaker A: High ground, high ground, canopy and go to reach one boom. Also, KB News, we have a really cool event. We are known as the Gospel through the Arts. Most people just know us about our Christian music festival, but we have an amazing event that we are starting to plan. It's probably gonna be sometime in September. We're gonna be partnering with Project Lab Buffalo. [00:10:22] Speaker B: Project Lab, Shout out We're gonna be [00:10:24] Speaker A: partnering with Sheridan Parkside Life center and we are going to be hosting an art gallery at Sheridan Parkside Life Center. This is going to be a really cool event to raise funds for Sheridan Parkside. And what we're looking for is we're looking for artists who want to exhibit or even any level because we're going [00:10:45] Speaker B: to be Kevin Neville. [00:10:47] Speaker A: Kevin Neville level. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Even the Mike Wing level. [00:10:52] Speaker B: Wow. [00:10:52] Speaker A: We're going to be showcasing art from the community. There's going to be kids that go to school in this life center that we're going to be showcasing their art. We are looking for artists. So if you are an artist and you want to exhibit some of your work, we would love to have you at this art gallery. If you love art and just like to look at art, want to experience art, please come. We're even going to have some interactive experiential art. We're going to be doing some painting on some canvases. We're going to be doing like, you know, the painting with a twist. We're going to be doing that without the alcohol and we're going to have some canvases that people can paint. Maybe some greetings. [00:11:33] Speaker B: Anyways. [00:11:34] Speaker A: Yeah, we're going to have some stuff that you can paint. Like just, just come and be an artist for a few hours, even if you're only pretending. Yeah. So please, if you're an artist, email me@kb insiderpodgmail.com if you want more information. Be looking for that event in our social media and email and all the fun stuff that we're, that we promote stuff in. But I'm super excited about this art gallery that we're going to do. It's our first annual art gallery. We're hoping to do more in the future. But come on, come on out, give it a shot. [00:12:06] Speaker B: Here's the thing, right, Mike. Just like art tells a story, people tell stories. [00:12:11] Speaker A: That's a good segue. [00:12:13] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. I'm really good at those jukes. So we're going to be listening to some stories today, Mike, about first time guests, repeat guests at the Kingdom Bound and their experience thereof. We'd love for you guys to check it out. [00:12:25] Speaker A: Yeah, we love those stories. Enjoy. [00:12:34] Speaker C: Welcome back to the Kingdom Bound Insider podcast. I am your host, Kevin Neville and actually I have an old friend of mine that is here at Kingdom Bound. I want to introduce you to him. [00:12:45] Speaker G: Hi, my name is Andrew Letier and I'm actually from Manlius, New York. I count upstate New York actually as home. [00:12:55] Speaker C: You Are Kingdom Bound day two? [00:12:57] Speaker G: Yes. [00:12:57] Speaker C: Is this your first time at Kingdom Bound? [00:12:59] Speaker G: It is not. I have come here on numerous occasions. But the main thing was I saw on Facebook this post of my friend Kevin Neville, who said he was gonna be doing a podcast thing up here, and if anybody wanted to come joining, [00:13:14] Speaker C: he's usually reliable when he says normally. [00:13:17] Speaker G: Normally. Right. And so I bought my tickets to Kingdom Bound, got my hotel room, all of that, and so this is my second day. And I've really been enjoying being here. [00:13:32] Speaker C: You haven't seen it, but Andrew's been working really hard in the background. In fact, a lot of the guests you've seen here, Andrew has gone out and invited them and convinced them not to be shy and to tell their stories. So thank you, Andrew. [00:13:45] Speaker G: Oh, yeah, no, you're very welcome. That was one of the things when I got here, Kevin said, listen, if you're going to be here, I'm putting you to work. But no, honestly, I volunteered for it. I love this guy. I love being here at Kingdom Bound. Come here a lot for the worship. I was in the worship tent this morning, and it's just a great time to refresh and reconnect with all the activity that I've had. I was like, I need some downtime and I'm coming to Kingdom Bound, so this is where I am. [00:14:15] Speaker C: And so what was your experience in the worship tent this morning? [00:14:19] Speaker G: Just totally being relaxed, peaceful in the presence of God and his people. And that is part of the experience here at Kingdom Boundaries, because there is a presence of God here and what he's doing when all of his people are gathering together that you don't get in too many places. Concerts maybe. Right. But outside of a big event where a lot of God's people are all together, says where two or more are gathered in my name there am I in the midst? Well, you got a whole lot more than two or more here. Right. So the presence of God, especially if you're sensitive to the spirit, really goes up a few levels. At an event like Kingdom, it can be a busy season and a place where God says, okay, now we're going to take it down a notch. That's one of the things I love about Kingdom Bound is because you have Christians from every denomination, and when you're here, it's almost like the Olive Goddard. When you're here, you're family. [00:15:30] Speaker C: I love that. [00:15:31] Speaker G: Right. [00:15:31] Speaker C: What they need is breadsticks then, right? Yeah. It could really be Olive Garden. [00:15:35] Speaker G: That's what I was thinking. But you don't have the heated topics of this difference through that difference. When you're at an event like this at Kingdom Bound and all these denominations come together, you know, Jesus said, you will know that they are Christians by our love. And it's in events like this where people put aside their different theological viewpoints and things that they want to hammer home and just enjoy the presence of other Christians and embrace them, even if they have different theological outlooks and viewpoints. [00:16:19] Speaker D: Hey, how are you doing? My name's Eli. I'm from Rochester, and I'm here with my mom. [00:16:24] Speaker H: Hi, my name is Deb King, and I'm here with my son Eli. [00:16:27] Speaker I: Oh. [00:16:28] Speaker H: We have been coming for many, many years, ever since my kids were just little babies. I am actually an interpreter. So for many, many years, I interpreted on stage here at Kingdom Mound and was able to bring my kids to enjoy the ministry here that Kingdom Mound offers. [00:16:45] Speaker C: Amazing. And you on the main stage doing interpretation, mostly. [00:16:49] Speaker H: My favorite part of interpreting was here in the worship tent, actually. So this was really my venue over here at the worship tent. It's been probably 15 or 16, maybe [00:17:00] Speaker C: 17 years, as you're saying now, because you're not the only child, right? [00:17:04] Speaker A: No, no. [00:17:04] Speaker D: Yeah. So I have. I have an older sibling. I have younger siblings, and we basically been coming to Kingdom Mountains as we were children, like, as long as I can. [00:17:13] Speaker C: Your sisters came as infants? Desert roselles, and. [00:17:16] Speaker H: Yeah, they. [00:17:18] Speaker I: Yep. [00:17:18] Speaker H: They've been here ever since they were newborns. [00:17:21] Speaker C: What got you connected to Kinabam got you coming for the first few times? [00:17:25] Speaker H: Well, when I first started, I knew about the ministry, and I knew that there were interpreters who came to interpret. And being an interpreter, that's really a gift that God gave me to use for his glory, so I wanted to use it. And I love worship music, so I decided to look into it and was thrilled that I could come and bring my family to experience the excitement of the festival. [00:17:47] Speaker D: Absolutely. This was. Kingdom Mountain was a place that me and my brother and my sisters always looked forward to coming. In fact, I remember having, like, vivid dreams about being on the roller coasters and, you know, going to the concerts. And I just remember everything from going into the park and coming into the shops and picking up, you know, the little knickknacks and things. It was something that we always looked forward to as kids now growing up into adulthood, and we're all still here together, so it's been really a blessing. So we have a. We have a camper just on site, and it's actually pretty Interesting, because now we have small kids, a five and three year old, two boys, and everyone just is kind of invested into them and their spiritual journey. So to be able to camp, to be able to bring them to these types of things, hear the music, hear the messages, it's really awesome. [00:18:33] Speaker C: And you're diving right into the next generation of it. [00:18:36] Speaker D: That's exactly right. Yeah. More of a family tradition at this point. So we'll be here for years to come, I'm sure. [00:18:41] Speaker H: For me, I just really love being with family. Whatever. There was a point in my life where I was on a schedule to go and interpret and do this, and now it feels just more like I can take a seat back and kind of let them lead and follow where they want to go. [00:18:56] Speaker D: We go to Calvary assembly in Thailand. [00:18:59] Speaker C: Okay. Calvary assembly. I know of it. [00:19:01] Speaker D: Yeah, that's absolutely. Yeah. [00:19:03] Speaker H: And we have a big group coming from Lighthouse Wesleyan in Wayland, N.Y. coming on Wednesday too. [00:19:08] Speaker C: How big of a group? [00:19:09] Speaker H: Probably 45 people will be coming. [00:19:11] Speaker C: You guys just descend on Kingdom Bound. That's so much fun. [00:19:15] Speaker H: Yep. [00:19:15] Speaker C: Did you guys get together or do anything as a church? [00:19:17] Speaker H: Yeah, we'll come together while they're here for lunch and then get together Ed in the evening for the concerts as well. [00:19:24] Speaker C: Well, guys, have the best time. Thank you for taking the time. [00:19:26] Speaker D: Appreciate you having us. [00:19:27] Speaker A: You know, Chris, another amazing partner that we have with Kingdom Bound and with this podcast specifically is our friends at Operation Christmas Child. And they just kind of got through a year of an amazing year of packing shoeboxes. Check out this video. [00:19:46] Speaker C: Today, when you pack that shoebox gift, would you pray for that child? They may have an encounter with the Lord. [00:19:54] Speaker I: We are here at Watauga High School and we are packing shoeboxes with the JV and the varsity football team. It's exciting to engage the youth and give them a place of fellowship and community and service that they might not otherwise have. [00:20:09] Speaker E: We talk a lot about servant leadership and gratitude in our football program. What a great opportunity for our players to give back. [00:20:17] Speaker C: It means a lot more than just packing a box. [00:20:19] Speaker D: As a team, it's just great to [00:20:21] Speaker C: share the gospel with each other and serve together. [00:20:24] Speaker D: It's a great opportunity for this whole team to be here working with Operation Christmas Child. I just hope these kids have an overwhelming sense of joy and know that God loves them. [00:20:37] Speaker F: Our goal was to pack 350 boxes. We exceeded that. It's been the most joyous experience ever. Watching the Holy Spirit work today has been just a blessing that I'll never forget. [00:20:48] Speaker A: Lord Jesus, thank you for this football [00:20:51] Speaker D: team taking their time out of their school week to give to a child in need. [00:20:55] Speaker A: So we just thank you that you [00:20:57] Speaker D: chose to come down to earth, die a sinner's death. [00:21:00] Speaker A: But you rose again three days later. We get to do this because you're [00:21:04] Speaker D: alive and on the throne forever. [00:21:08] Speaker I: I encourage you to get creative with the packing party this year. You can do it with your small group, your neighbors, your sports team. It's a fun way to build community and do something for kids around the world. [00:21:25] Speaker A: You want to hear a really cool story about a shoebox? [00:21:28] Speaker B: What kind of shoe? [00:21:29] Speaker A: You know how the video said that they pray over every shoebox? They do. They actually do. [00:21:33] Speaker B: I believe it. [00:21:34] Speaker A: So I've. [00:21:35] Speaker C: I've. [00:21:35] Speaker A: I heard a story. I heard a story from an employee at Operation Christmas Child. It was only something only God can do. Okay, so every shoebox, you're supposed to put, like, you know, there's kind of like a list of specific things that are supposed to go in it, right? [00:21:49] Speaker B: Yeah, Crayons. [00:21:50] Speaker A: And they get checked a couple times. And so otherwise it's all just paper. [00:21:55] Speaker C: Right. [00:21:56] Speaker A: And so this kid, he goes to open up his shoebox, and in the shoebox, somebody must have, like, tampered with the box or maybe somehow the box slipped through the cracks of getting checked. Or somebody pulled a fast one. But in this kid's shoebox was just one shoe. That's all he got. [00:22:18] Speaker B: Oh. [00:22:19] Speaker A: But the thing that makes this story amazing is that this kid. [00:22:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:24] Speaker A: Had his left leg amputated. [00:22:26] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:22:27] Speaker A: He only had his right leg. And the shoe that was in the box was a right footed shoe and the exact size that he needed. Isn't that amazing? [00:22:39] Speaker B: That is amazing. [00:22:40] Speaker A: Like, somebody was like, oh, I'm gonna be a jerk and take out all the cool stuff and just put a shoe in there. And God's like, oh, no, you're not. Like, we're gonna. Yeah, this is. I'm gonna. I'm gonna make this amazing. So the kid who has only one leg because of a terrible accident, who needed a shoe, exact foot, exact size, gets the exact box he needs. [00:23:02] Speaker B: It's amazing. [00:23:03] Speaker A: So pray over your shoeboxes and pray over what you put in them. Because God does amazing things through the shoeboxes. He does amazing things through Operation Christmas Child and Samaritan's Purse. We're super thankful. [00:23:15] Speaker B: Thank you for your ministry. [00:23:16] Speaker A: Back to the stories. [00:23:17] Speaker E: I'm Joe. [00:23:19] Speaker F: Deb Colbeck. [00:23:20] Speaker I: I'm Brittany. [00:23:21] Speaker C: You're their daughter. Yeah. [00:23:24] Speaker E: Daughter in law. [00:23:25] Speaker C: Daughter in law, yeah. And this is Whitney. This is your first time at Kingdom Bound? [00:23:29] Speaker I: This is. [00:23:30] Speaker F: And you're the one. [00:23:31] Speaker C: So your whole family see, right? [00:23:32] Speaker B: Yes. [00:23:33] Speaker E: Yeah, they're right there. [00:23:34] Speaker C: They're behind us. [00:23:35] Speaker E: Right. [00:23:35] Speaker C: How did, how did this come to be? [00:23:38] Speaker I: One day I was listening to Sound of Life, they were advertising. I looked it up and talked to my husband, decided we definitely wanted to go. And then we bought the tickets as a Christmas gift for my in laws. [00:23:53] Speaker C: And so this is a Christmas gift for the whole family. [00:23:56] Speaker I: The whole family. Yeah. Our two young boys are here as well. [00:24:01] Speaker E: My son was probably 15 somewhere. It's my wife and I, it's second marriage. So we ended up with two 15 year olds and like a 13 year old. We came here to Kingdom or to Darien Lake. [00:24:13] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:13] Speaker E: And while we were here we, we saw the tent was erected and I don't remember if we were before or after Kingdom Bound had actually happened. And we kind of inquired about it and we said, well, yeah, we'd like to. Really. That would be fun to go to. That was like 15 plus years ago. [00:24:31] Speaker C: So you knew of it for many years because. Where are you guys from? You guys? [00:24:35] Speaker E: We're from Jefferson, New York. [00:24:37] Speaker C: Right. So that's south of Albany. [00:24:39] Speaker E: Yeah, south of Albany. It's in the Casco Mountain. Oh, every time you hear it it's like, oh, I'd like to go, but no. [00:24:45] Speaker I: And the funny thing is we didn't know that they wanted to go or anything until we gifted them and they were like, oh, we've always wanted to go. It was a complete surprise. So that was going confirmation. We made a right choice. [00:24:58] Speaker C: So was this like Christmas morning that this all happened? [00:25:01] Speaker F: Yes. [00:25:02] Speaker E: And they put it in seven boxes. [00:25:05] Speaker C: Wait, wait, wait. The grand box per ticket for the entire family? [00:25:09] Speaker E: No, one box inside of another box. [00:25:13] Speaker C: Oh, that's Russian doors. [00:25:16] Speaker E: So the grandsons knew it. [00:25:18] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:25:18] Speaker E: Especially the five year old. He was, he couldn't hold back the laughter. [00:25:24] Speaker C: Box by box. [00:25:25] Speaker G: Yeah. [00:25:25] Speaker I: Kept saying, are you getting tired? [00:25:27] Speaker C: You want to help you? [00:25:29] Speaker I: So we came out with a giant box for them to get down to an envelope with the tickets in it. [00:25:36] Speaker C: How long did it take you to like as a parent, I'm like up all night grabbing presents. How long did that take you, Brittany? [00:25:42] Speaker I: A very long time. Especially with the five and three year old trying to eat out. [00:25:47] Speaker C: But they kept a secret throughout all the boxes. That, that's pretty, pretty noble thing to have done. Good for that. God bless him. [00:25:56] Speaker F: He's Heard of Kingdom Bound being advertised on Sound of Lake Radio 105.3 out of green Board just near us. And that's the only radio station I have on my car. I listen to a constantly and we've. I keep hearing him. I keep saying myself, we can't go hold. We can't cohole. Every job we always say someday, someday. This is our someday. [00:26:19] Speaker E: Well, I have a 36 foot fifth wheel camper and I'm usually pretty good at poking it into a spot. But this one was impossible. I tried it two different ways. It was just impossible. Too many trees, Too many. [00:26:34] Speaker I: Let's make a call and see what they can do. They sent us down to check in and Amber, who is amazing with everything Kingdom Bound planning wise. [00:26:44] Speaker C: Oh yeah, that's Amber Wing. She is phenomenal. [00:26:47] Speaker I: Yeah, I explained what was taking place and she was like, you know what, let's move you. And we have an amazing site now. It's conveniently close. So much more room. Just. It's awesome. We can hear the worship tent even when we're at our camper now. Amazing. And it's just better for the boys. [00:27:08] Speaker C: And you guys could walk like here and then walk back. [00:27:11] Speaker I: Yeah. And we, you know, starting out, trying to get in, it was a little tricky. Tricky. You know, it's like starting off, oh, this is how it's going to start. And then that happened and we were all like, that's a God moment. [00:27:28] Speaker C: I love that. [00:27:29] Speaker I: And it's looking forward to every other, you know, God moment to come. [00:27:34] Speaker E: Looking forward to listening to Annie Wilson today. [00:27:37] Speaker C: Oh yeah, she's going to be amazing [00:27:38] Speaker E: her on social media quite a bit. [00:27:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:27:40] Speaker E: And just kind of encouraged to per all the music and all the pre, you know, all the messages. So just the overall experience and just [00:27:50] Speaker I: all the big and small God moments that come throughout this the rest of the week. [00:27:55] Speaker C: And we have a wonderful guest today. She's been coming, I think every single year. She's the one I've been wanting to talk about because I've got some questions. [00:28:05] Speaker F: Okay, thank you. I'm Barb Wasand, I'm from Lockport, New York and I come here every year now. [00:28:12] Speaker C: But when you say every year, you mean every year? [00:28:15] Speaker F: Every year. The first year when it was in October. [00:28:17] Speaker C: Okay, now that's what I want to dive in first. Tell us what the experience was like. [00:28:22] Speaker F: You know, we brought our youth choir. They sang here, they sang in the old theater which I'm not sure they do anything in there anymore. And we. It was cold. I would Say probably two thirds of the rides were shut down. [00:28:37] Speaker C: I'm surprised it was even open. That made into the season. [00:28:40] Speaker F: I know, it was crazy. And the main stage used to be where they shoot off the fireworks now. [00:28:46] Speaker C: Right. [00:28:47] Speaker F: And so we would go and we'd sit on the grass. That was cold. And Milan Lefebvre and the Broken Heart Band. [00:28:54] Speaker C: Oh, I love that. [00:28:55] Speaker F: I know. Played there that year. We'd never heard anything like that. It's just amazing. I don't think they had the worship tent back then yet. [00:29:04] Speaker C: Right. [00:29:05] Speaker F: Eventually, when they put it in, it was on the island, which I'm not even sure most people know exists. [00:29:10] Speaker C: You were telling me that before, and I was like, there's an island. [00:29:13] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Not a very big one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it was a lot of fun. I'm not even sure how we ended up bringing our kids, but the kids love the experience. [00:29:24] Speaker C: Yeah. So it's funny to think that those kids are grown up with families of their own at this time. Maybe some of them are here. [00:29:32] Speaker F: They're old now. [00:29:34] Speaker C: Was 86 was the first one, I'm thinking. [00:29:36] Speaker F: I believe so. [00:29:36] Speaker C: And then I came 87. So the first year, they moved it to the summer. Right. Now we say that it's pretty sweltering today. [00:29:44] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:29:45] Speaker C: So I'm thinking, oh, maybe October wasn't so bad. [00:29:48] Speaker F: And I think it was in August back then. It was in August for a long time. And then I heard that they changed it because they were missing the college students because they were going back to school. [00:29:56] Speaker C: Oh, that's. [00:29:57] Speaker F: So they moved it to July. I think that's what the story. [00:30:00] Speaker C: Well, it makes sense because it's fun to see, really, every generation here. [00:30:04] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:30:05] Speaker C: So. So tell us a little bit over the years. So how has your sort of ministry as part of this progressed? Because you became volunteer, you became ministry. [00:30:15] Speaker F: Probably the first three years we brought our youth quiet, which was very fun to do. It was a great experience for the kids. Then they kind of stopped doing local talent. So I joined the prayer team that has the same leadership as it has right now, Pastor Tim Dombrowski and his wife Chris. But we used to be by the kids tent, and then we got moved down to the Superman tent. Some amazing, amazing ministry happened down there in that tent. Some amazing supernatural stuff. And some of the bands that come now, I remember their first year here and how young they were. [00:30:57] Speaker C: Right, right. [00:30:57] Speaker F: And now they're like Bono, Fish. My daughter's grown us. So it was very joy. [00:31:03] Speaker C: Yeah. We were talking to our guest earlier that was saying she came the first year, he came the first year. Rebecca St. James come over Australia, you know, as a middle schooler, basically, or a young teenager. And now these people just have ministries and filling other ministries. [00:31:19] Speaker F: I remember her sitting down on the edge of the stage and, you know, back then her ministry was about staying pure till married. [00:31:26] Speaker C: Right? Right. [00:31:27] Speaker F: So she sang a few songs. She sat down on the edge of the stage and. And just talk to people like she was talking to people in her living room. It was very cool. You know, it was just. It was interesting. The bands you knew were going to continue because there was a spirit about that. I remember Disciples first year, and they were so young and they were so adorable. And the first thing the leader did is come out with a Bible in his hand. He started reading scripture and preaching. And I thought would. Or really the afters loved the afters. Their ministry was family. And that's what they talked about was family. Those were young guys, you know, so it was just very new. I remember Michael Peace's first year. You know, nobody heard of Christian Rath. [00:32:14] Speaker C: Right. Well, he really is the grandfather of it. [00:32:17] Speaker F: He paved the way his social justice ministry. And I believe it was Philadelphia. I Remember when will McFarlane, Rick Kua, Tony Hooper, and I forget who else, but they were like the Kingdom Bound bangs. [00:32:33] Speaker C: Oh, yes. At Louis Council. Louis Council. [00:32:35] Speaker F: That was there. [00:32:36] Speaker C: And it was fun that they were having fun with each other, you know, that they found their people. [00:32:42] Speaker F: Right. It was interesting to see, like, Will McFarlane and Rakua, because we're all around the same age. We all got saved around the same time. [00:32:50] Speaker C: Right. [00:32:51] Speaker F: To see them that much and feel like we all grew old together with Kingdom back. And that's the way I feel like. I mean, I'm 73 here now, and I feel like I have grown old with Kingdom Bound and will continue to. As long as my legs work and get me here, I will keep coming. But this year, like, my son and my grandchildren are here, which is very nice, and my son's on his way to college or my. Not my son. My grandson is on his way to Roberts in the fall. So this is kind of the last family thing together. The thing is you get to know people or you know people or you see the same people every year. And then you think, oh, do I know them? And then you realize, no. Last year we came to. We bought T shirts from one of the companies down here. [00:33:37] Speaker C: Right. [00:33:38] Speaker F: We ran into the girl and she goes, oh, my gosh, I'm So glad you guys are here. We were looking for you and I [00:33:44] Speaker C: thought she remembered you. [00:33:45] Speaker F: You remember? [00:33:46] Speaker C: Yeah. Good memo. Obviously they had a good experience, I guess. [00:33:52] Speaker F: Well, we, we live in Lockport, so It's about a 40 minute drive, but we drive back and forth and we have friends here. We go eat with them. [00:33:59] Speaker C: Oh, wonderful. [00:33:59] Speaker F: Which is really nice. [00:34:00] Speaker C: Just really make it an adventure and then something you could dive into. [00:34:04] Speaker F: Yeah, very much so. [00:34:05] Speaker C: Well, Bob, thank you so much for joining us. [00:34:07] Speaker F: Well, thank you. This was fun. [00:34:09] Speaker B: So here's the thing. We're narrative creatures, so hopefully that encourages you guys and gives you. Gives you a little more inflate to the festival. Yeah. Taste. I taste it. Taste. To see that the Lord tastes like key lime pie. [00:34:21] Speaker A: Oh. [00:34:22] Speaker B: Because I like key lime pie. Do you? I do like key lime. [00:34:25] Speaker A: I'm not a fan. [00:34:25] Speaker B: You don't like key lime pie. [00:34:26] Speaker A: You're. You're sophisticated. You got the glasses on. [00:34:29] Speaker B: This is the thing. Now, here's what's going to happen next week. [00:34:32] Speaker A: Yeah. It's been a good episode, huh? [00:34:33] Speaker B: Yeah, sure has. I mean, next week, is it two weeks? I don't know. [00:34:36] Speaker A: The next episode. Here's what's going to the next episode. [00:34:40] Speaker B: Here's what's going to happen next episode. You ready? [00:34:44] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:34:44] Speaker B: I'm going to quiz you. Are you ready for that? [00:34:47] Speaker A: I don't think I'm ready for it. [00:34:48] Speaker B: Well, I didn't even give you the category yet, so how could you be ready for it? [00:34:51] Speaker A: Because I know the person I'm going to be competing against and she's a wizard. [00:34:55] Speaker B: At what? [00:34:56] Speaker A: At all things Christian music. I'm so intimidated. [00:34:59] Speaker B: At what? [00:35:00] Speaker A: She works at Today's Christian Entertainment. Who is it? Chris Kee? Mead. [00:35:05] Speaker B: We're going to have her next week. It's going to be awesome. I keep saying next week, next episode. [00:35:10] Speaker A: And she's going to be with us the entire podcast. [00:35:12] Speaker B: It's going to be a great time. [00:35:13] Speaker A: We're going to knock it out of the park that day. [00:35:16] Speaker B: Will we be batting a hundred or a thousand? [00:35:18] Speaker A: We're going to be batting a thousand little. We'll give you a little taste of what's to come. [00:35:23] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm going to quiz you on some worship CCLI songs. [00:35:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:27] Speaker B: So I'm going to do. Do you even know what that is? What's a worship song? You don't know. You're going to lose. Kelly's going to sing. [00:35:34] Speaker F: I will. [00:35:35] Speaker C: No, that's not. [00:35:36] Speaker B: He's love you. [00:35:36] Speaker A: That's not a word. [00:35:37] Speaker B: No, you were thinking this is the air I eat. Because that's a song. I want to come back in rotation. He has come back in the rotation. [00:35:46] Speaker A: You bring it back. [00:35:47] Speaker B: You bring it back. We talked about it. [00:35:48] Speaker A: Why are you bringing that up? What do you want people to do up the room? [00:35:50] Speaker B: Brought it back, really, is what I did. But here's what we'd like to hear from [email protected] you should be so exhausted hearing that little phrase by now. But we'd love to hear from you if you could pick a song. What's that out here? Oh, that's my favorite song from 1994. Yes, we'd love to know which song you'd love for your worship leader. Leaders, plural. Bring back in the rotation. [00:36:13] Speaker A: What song haven't you heard in a while that you would just love to hear this Sunday at your local church? [00:36:18] Speaker B: God's great dance floor. [00:36:19] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. But it has to have the trumpet player. [00:36:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Otherwise it's not even worth it. [00:36:26] Speaker A: You need to, if you're gonna do that song, have a trumpet player and get the guy that he had with the sombrero. Chris Tomlin. [00:36:33] Speaker B: Sure. See, here's my opinion about that song. Did you hear. So a lot of songs these days are co written. [00:36:40] Speaker A: Yes. All. Yes. By a ridiculous amount of people. It seems like there's a lot of names, like eight people. How many? I couldn't. Yeah. Anyways, go ahead, finish your thought. I'm sorry, I was. [00:36:51] Speaker E: I. [00:36:52] Speaker B: You know, that was rude. [00:36:53] Speaker A: That was very rude, Michael. [00:36:56] Speaker B: So here's the thing about that song. Lots of times they're co written and here's the thing, for real, though, I much prefer, I think, the Chris Tomlin version. I like Chris Tomlin. No offense. Yeah, I think the Martin Smith version, I'll have. [00:37:13] Speaker A: We'll have to listen to that on the car ride home. [00:37:14] Speaker B: We better. [00:37:15] Speaker A: We'll have to listen to that on the car ride home. And I'm hoping you're listening to this on your car ride home. And it's been great hanging with you, Chris. Thanks again. True Renaissance man. Four different glasses. [00:37:26] Speaker F: Good time. [00:37:26] Speaker A: I have four different reading bosses is your own. Can you let go? Oh, please I can. Goodbye. [00:37:31] Speaker B: Not till next episode. [00:37:33] Speaker A: Here we go. Trials and troubles Way down my soul Looking up at the mountain from the valley low But I know that you got me, you are in control so I'm letting go Letting go.
